Descrizione
A plaque, a column, a sacred shrine. How many times, strolling through Rome, have we passed by its small details without noticing? Yet, Rome speaks to us above all through these details, and it is these that Emma Nardi puts at the centre of fifty walks, conceived and written during the months of the pandemic. Did you know, for example, that at the end of Via Giulia there was a fountain which has actually moved? Or that in Via del Corso you can still see the place where the torture of the rope was inflicted? And what does the bronze head of a pensive bear – found near a historic square along the Lungotevere – tell us? Through her storytelling, inspired by such details, the author evokes Roman history and offers us an alternative guide for visiting the city, without being overwhelmed by its immense richness and managing to avoid the routes of mass tourism.
